Current Magazine is looking for a Executive Editor!
Current is Tidal Magazine’s exclusive-online outlet featuring an ongoing rotation of talented artists. Both Tidal and Current reach a highly curated group of creatives and tastemakers in the industry.
The amount of work for Current’s Executive Editor stays light but steady since we post about once a week. Because of this posting timeline, the workload is very manageable and can easily fit in with an already busy schedule. Everyone on the Current team has a multi faceted career, and we understand that our Executive Editor will too, so it is key that that each team member has a level of flexibility and willingness to support each other when the need arises.
While this position is unpaid, working on Current will not only provide an incredible opportunity to expand and strengthen one’s creative network, but also provides the opportunity to work on something beautiful and authentic. The Executive Editor plays a key role in setting the tone for Current’s voice and in helping determine the culture, music and celebrity profiles we showcase.
The main responsibilities for the position are:
- Work with team to select upcoming profiles
- Create titles for fashion stories - 3 per month
- Assign or write the culture, music and celebrity profiles - 1 per month
- Edit any of these profiles that might be outsourced to another writer
The creativity and input that comes from every member of the Current team is highly valued and is everything in shaping what the magazine is. The Current/Tidal duo is growing every day, and we continue to work with an incredibly talented array of photographers, writers, stylists, actors, musicians etc. And because there are no advertisers, we are only beholden to our creative vision. All of us here at Current are incredibly dedicated to the work we put out, and we look forward to sharing that with our new Executive Editor!!
